Update December 2022

In December 2022, many generators were delivered to bakeries, field hospitals and churches in Ukraine, along with food and clothing shipments to Kherson, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv.

A month full of shipments and aid

Much has happened this month. The bags from the Eben-Haëzer School campaign have arrived and several more shipments have gone to Kherson, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv. Winter is in full swing in Ukraine. Cold and harsh, often without electricity, water or heating — that is the current reality for the people of Ukraine. Thanks to all the support we can help these people survive this dark, difficult time.

Generators for critical locations

Because of the current electricity crisis in Ukraine, Metadidomi is receiving many requests for generators. The last truck from the Netherlands was packed to the brim with generators. In many places we have been able to help people with such power generators. At a bakery near the front in Donetsk province, they can now finish baking their bread when the electricity suddenly cuts out, so they no longer have to throw half-baked loaves away (800 loaves once had to be discarded — in wartime). At a field hospital at the front, an ex-army generator is doing its duty. Hospitals, warming centres, shelters and apartment buildings — electricity is needed everywhere. In all these places Metadidomi tries to help where possible.

Special donations from companies

Several companies have also donated wonderful generators. Through Van Dorp Installatie and Athora we received extra-large units, some of which will be placed at a children's hospital. One of them even had to be lifted from the eighth floor of a building in the Netherlands. The smaller units will be used in churches that serve as warming centres in Zaporizhzhia. Van Oord (Fourtop) also donated two fine generators. These will be sent to Ukraine as soon as possible, to bring some light in dark times.
