While in the Netherlands, the summer vacation provides rest, the situation in Ukraine is variable. In some regions, the nightly attacks were temporarily less intense, but in areas around the front line, the fighting continued unabated. During this period, Metadidomi was able to support various projects.
Through army preacher Viktor, we received images of a summer camp for families of fallen soldiers. These are moving moments, especially when families visit the graves of their loved ones together. With Metadidomi's support, army pastors can continue to do this work, especially among these hard-hit families.
In addition, the church in Volytsia organized a summer camp for children who lost their fathers as a result of the war. In addition to relaxation, daily attention was paid to Bible stories, conversations and gaming activities. For many children, this was a rare moment of rest and attention.
We also received photos of the almost ripe harvest from the vegetable gardens. There is great gratitude among families and we can recognize that the harvest has been blessed. At the same time, in view of the winter, we are starting the firewood project again. The first trucks are already on their way to Mykolaiv. For 50 euros, a family can burn for a month; for 120 euros, they also receive a wood stove.
